Immersion Programs

Bringing Inclusion to Life - Through Lived Experience

Our immersion programs are a heightened, human experience — one that unfolds in small group time with our mentors, who live with disability and bring the wisdom that comes from lived experience. With honesty, they take an 'open book' approach, inviting students into real conversation. Paired with hands-on activities, these moments allow students to truly walk a few steps in someone else’s shoes — and see the world differently because of it. Participants develop a skill set and perspective they can carry into their everyday lives, beyond the immersion experience.

What’s Included

  • Half day, full day or multi-day options

  • Mentor storytelling + Q&A

  • Wheelchair navigation + sport

  • Blindfolded and assistive tech games

  • Label sorting, reflection, and guided discussion

  • Unpacking our five pillars through real experience

  • Designed for years 7-11 & tailored by age group

  • Leadership focused options available

Price Guide

Pricing varies based on group size, use of sports wheelchairs, day chairs and length of the program. We aim for a high ratio of mentors to students and as much hands-on activity as possible. Therefore the optimal group size is around 60 or less, though we can tailor programs for larger groups. Prices for our immersion experiences start around $2,900 per day.

A group of young people in wheelchairs sitting outdoors in a semi-circle, listening to a woman in a wheelchair and a woman standing under a large black umbrella, with a park and trees in the background.
A group of students sitting on the floor in a classroom or auditorium, listening to a presentation by three speakers on stage. The speakers are seated in front of a large screen displaying the logo 'unOther.' Students are dressed in red and black uniforms, with some girls having red hair ribbons. The stage has a black curtain backdrop and a piano to the side.

Professional Development

Staff Learning That Sparks Perspective

Our professional development sessions invite educators into the same reflective process we offer students — grounded in the five pillars of unOther, and led by mentors with lived experience.

We also break open the methodology behind what we do — showing how story-led, experiential learning can engage both the heart and mind. Staff gain insight not only into the unOther approach, but into how to embed those practices across school culture.

Whether you're building a more inclusive culture, refreshing your wellbeing strategy, or looking for meaningful ways to bring your school values to life, unOther offers PD that’s honest, human, and deeply relevant.

Perfect as a launchpad for the classroom program, or as a lead-in or follow-up to a full immersion experience.
